I AM WHO I AM
God transcends time. God created the universe. He is the architect of all that we see, hear, taste, touch, and smell.
When Moses asks God what his name is… God simply says: “I AM WHO I AM”
So simple, yet so powerful. You can’t put God in a box… you can’t describe him. Tough to wrap your mind around is it not? At least it is for me.
12 And God said, “I will be with you. And this will be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will worship God on this mountain.”
13 Moses said to God, “Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ Then what shall I tell them?”
14 God said to Moses, “I am who I am . This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’

Saturday morning was possibly the best weather we have had this year in Seattle so the wife and I decided to check out a new park… Seward Park.
We walked around the entire park… about 2.5 miles, and it was absolutely beautiful. My wife kept saying how she couldn’t believe that we had never been there before. We had fun picking out our favorites dogs… mine was a well behaved golden lab… my wifes was just about any dog with 4 legs.

Today I got up early (for a Saturday) and grabbed the paper on my way to breakfast. I decided on a place up on NW 85th St.
Wild Mountain Cafe:
Website
Yelp
The staff was very friendly and the place had quite a bit of charm. It looked like it was a house converted into a restaurant with hard wood floors and enchanting little rooms through out.
I decided to sit at the counter with another local who had brought his dog with him. There was a large window in the front where we could see his dog eating and just enjoying the sunny weather on the porch.
I ended up ordering the ‘joe schmoe‘, which is a standard bacon, eggs, hash browns, and toast. The bacon was excellent, and the hash browns had garlic I believe. All in all, it was a place I would definitely go back to.

my wife has plenty of hobbies… speaking french, knitting, sewing, painting, reading, writing in her journal, sketching, etc…
me? I am a lazy bum. oh sure I feel that I work diligently at my career and that fills most of my day. But I don’t have much outside of that.
Some of my interests are economics, theology/Christianity, indie films…
I will have to come up with some more I guess.
I was watching Boyz n the Hood tonight and found inspiration from it actually. See the movie is about a kid growing up in south central L.A. His friends don’t have much direction in their life, however the main character ‘Tre’ has a father who “isn’t being hard on him, he’s just teaching him responsibility”. I can tell that Tre probably has quite a few hobbies/interests and that he is well rounded. While his buddies across the street are primarily one trick ponies that just drink beer and talk crap all day.
Anyway, I think that the TV/computer is really dragging me down lately. I live in this beautiful city and I am not out enjoying it. That will be my goal for the next 4- 6 weeks. Exploring parts of Seattle that I haven’t before. Tomorrow I will start with Ballard. I have a meeting at my church tomorrow mid morning so I will get up early and find a place to have breakfast in Ballard.
Sounds like a fine idea I must say!!

Am I crazy??? Yeah… most likely, but I am still leaving in about 20 min to go sit in the cold outside Circuit City for a chance at a Nintendo Wii. If I get one I will post pictures of the madness!!

deer hunting
Every year from 1991 - 1998 I went deer hunting with my Dad. It was always an adventure and as I grow older I miss it more and more. For all of those people who think that you just go and ‘kill’ an animal it is much more. I sit in the cold, wait for hours and hours just to see a deer and if my eye is good enough I shoot the deer. Then I have to gut it, carry it out of the woods, and haul it back home. Then you clean it up, cut it up, fry it up, and then eat it up. So the next time that you have steak at a restaurant, just think to yourself who is a killer and who is a hunter. I work for my meat!! You just sit there and order it off of a menu and have someone else kill it for you.
Anyway, that is a my rant for the week…
